Summer U19 Sculling

2026 Summer Youth Sculling

Potomac Boat Club has a long tradition of developing young athletes into National Champions; National Team Members; World Champions; Pan-American Games Medalists; and even Olympians.

This past summer our very own Tony Madigan finished 5th at the U19 World Championships in the 1x and Mira Meek stroked the U19 women's 4x. Our U19 boys in 2024 swept the sculling events at Canadian Henley winning the 1x, 2x, and 4x. In 2025 our U17 girls finished 2nd and our U19 girls finish 2nd and 3rd in the 2x and 4x, respectively. We had five athletes invited to US Rowing HP camp in 2025 and three in 2026. Additionally, Coach Madigan was invited to coach the U23 women's sculling HP camp and Coach Dinion, the U19 women's HP sculling camp, both held at the Chula Vista Elite Training Center.

The Summer U19 Sculling Program gives athletes the framework and tools upon which to build an international rowing career. The

program focuses on foundational technical development, strength and core development, nutrition, training

at a high level, goal setting skills, and racing.
