Ewww, that's nasty, baby- It is not only our members that are enjoying the house this time of year:
Rats are a problem because they spread disease and destroy anything they gnaw on, which they do a lot of. You can do your part to discourage them joining the holiday festivities by:
- Taking care of trash. Make sure it is in a can. If the can is overflowing, empty it and put it with the gate cans to be picked up.
- Do not store or leave food or beverages in your locker, out in the kitchen, or left sitting abandoned anywhere.
- Clean up any spills or messes when you see them.
- Take your dirty workout clothes home! No matter how lightly used, take them home and wash them unless you want a snuggle buddy in your trou. Same with towels. Anything they can make a nest with, they will, and they are attracted to "filth" of any sort.
- Close doors and windows before you leave. Rats and mice can squeeze through small spaces, but we don't have to make it easy for them either.
- Wash your hands. Many of you sit on the floor of the landing or the lounge to stretch. Rats hangout, do the same, and you touch your face, eyes... you get the picture. These little buggers can, and have been seen everywhere in the house.
Your tactical rat team, i.e. Dale, me, and a exterminator, will do our best to address the issue, ASAP. Please do your part to help. Thanks,
G.
